My job title was Technical Support Representative. To a lesser degree, I was happy to be working for the company that produces Real Time with Bill Maher. Insight Cable Company was recently bought up by Time Warner Cable.

Isle of Man Enacts Legislation to Outlaw Vulture Funds
By Anonymous Indymedia User on 12 Dec 2012This week, the Isle of Man passed legislation that would prevent vulture funds from exploiting the debts of some of the world’s poorest countries.
The Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (Limitation on Debt Recovery) Act 2012 outlaws a practice that undermines international debt relief efforts. The legislation prevents vulture funds from buying up poor nations’ debts for a fraction of their original amount and then using the courts to sue for the full value, plus interest and penalty charges. In some cases, vulture funds have made a 400% profit.

If you've been around Columbus in radical circles for the past year or so, you've likely heard about Redbird. These folks work diligently to keep folks aware of the growing number of people in prison. They write letters, run errands, research, transcribe, fundraise, and support prisoners in all kinds of other ways. They also put on events to help educate the rest of us about what's really going on.
Prisons are nasty. Yet, the Prison Industrial Complex is stronger today than its ever been. It's going to take all of us working together in order to win this fight.
