SEIU Janitors Issue Statement on Weekend Contract Victory
By syndicated_content on 01 Mar 2010In a major victory for good jobs in the new green economy, Twin Cities’ janitors won support for the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products and transitions to day shift cleaning in a new tentative contract agreement reached in the early hours of Sunday morning after about 26 hours straight of bargaining.
Janitors also won improved health insurance and secure full-time work for thousands of janitors who clean the vast majority of commercial office buildings and corporate headquarters in the region.

Justice for One Janitor, Continuing Struggle for Local 26 Preparing to Strike

"This morning, after 26 hours of bargaining, we finally won the contract that we've been fighting for!" says the SEIU 26 website. Janitors Protest Wells Fargo, Deluge Bankers with Monopoly Money and Toy Houses
By syndicated_content on 23 Feb 2010SEIU Local 26 janitors converged on Downtown Minneapolis today with a pair of coordinated actions designed to disrupt the business community, particularly megabank and cleaning client Wells Fargo. While about 40 members of the bargaining unit ran a decoy action, marching and chanting in the Skyways from US Bank Corps Plaza, the main unit descended on the Wells Fargo downtown branch.
