United Nations photo exhibit entitled “Visual Voices – Youth perspectives on Global Issues” will be inaugurated in the United Nations visitors lobby to celebrate International Youth Day. Youth responded to the question, “What innovative activities have you participated in for social causes?”

UPDATE: Three marches expected to number in the thousands will converge as one in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday.  MIRAC and allies will march from Martin Luther King Park at 41st and Nicollet at 2pm.  (A radical labor contingent will feed into the MIRAC march as well, meeting at Phelps Park, Chicago and 40th, at 1pm.)  Also at 2pm, marches with the Minnesota Immigrant Freedom Network will convene at Franklin and Chicago Avenues in south Minneapolis and University and Central Avenues Northeast, respectively.

Saint Petersburg, FL – Independent films, documentaries, actors, producers, screenwriters, composers, were all part of entertainment and education for the independent film artist during the 5^th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival in Saint Petersburg, Florida, this weekend. But one sponsor of the festival, Youth for Human Rights Florida, carried a message that is the same no matter what job you may have in making a film – Freedom of Expression.
