WTF Happened in Marion County?
Article:
As of late Wednesday evening, in the wake of a crushing defeat for Ohio Republicans, at least one irregularity is visible on J. Kenneth Blackwell's Ohio Secretary of State website: 100% voter turn-out in Marion County -- an impressive feat even by Miami County standards. Now... I'm certainly no statistician, but here's what my spreadsheet tells me based on the data from the website: The average county turnout was 56.14%. The median turn out was 55.46%. (That's after I throw out the 0% reported for 3 counties because they have not yet reported all their precincts.) Further, the Marion County Board of Elections reports a total of only 21,189 votes cast for Governor, which appears to be the highest number of votes cast in any of the races in Marion County. To my untrained eye there don't appear to be any obviously weird results coming out of Marion County... just this bizarre report on Blackwell's website. I'm no expert on this. But I know enough to not trust Blackwell farther than I can throw him or his mustache and this seems... well... downright Blackwellian.
