Events of the day, May Fourth 2008, Kent Ohio. Various activist including community and student activist from organizations such as Kent State Anti-War Commitee, Portage Peace, Lakeland Community College SDS, Kent Anti-Racist Action and many individual members of the community, all united in their opposition to war in general and the Iraq War in particular, stage a peaceful sit in at the West Main Street Bridge. Four individuals were arrested and charged with Failure to Comply, one individual, the wife of a disabled Iraqi War veteran, was physically abused and required x-rays on her wrists at Akron General. Her hands were twisted improperly and severely sprained and swollen due to the tightness of the plastic cuffs, her wrist was also cut by the officer who was removing the cuffs after she was booked.
